Full Gallery: The 2011 Frankfurt IAA Motorshow

The biggest auto show of the year is about to open up to the public in Frankfurt and we have a sneak peak for you. Obviously MINI was on hand to show-off the new coupe. But without a world debut or surprise concept our attention quickly turned to the rest of the show. BMW was showing off the new 1 Series five door hatch and of course the i3 and i8 concepts that debuted earlier this summer. Elsewhere VW had the new UP and Beetle R on hand as well as the new 911 (which is sorta technically a VW now… right?). You can check out all 200 photos after the break.

Me gusta FT-86 II. It’s not your father’s Toyota.

Still don’t know why you would even bother to show up at a prime autoshow if you have nothing going on. Seems like a huge waste of money to show nothing at all that is going to catch anybodies eyes.

the wrap around glass on the Alpha has a real Lancia Stratos vibe to it..

That first photo is effin sexy! The way the lights dance along the roofline. Looks great! :)

is the new Up! any different from the old Up!? They’ve been showing that concept for like 3 years now. When are they gonna build the darn thing? Probably won’t come to the US anyway since they always keep their most interesting options out of this market.

That side view of the MINI Coupe with gray body/black roof & those wheels really is a winner.

Agree. It’s the first shot I’ve liked since the blue/blue with white-stripe concept. Seems to have achieved a certain aggressiveness that the production photos have been missing for me. Anxious to see it in person.
