To put it plainly MINI at Geneva this year is all about the Clubvan and the MINI Countryman JCW. And clearly the JCW CM is the star of the show. In person the car looks lower and meaner than in photos. Specifically the 19″ wheels give the car better proportions and fill out the wheel wells much more appropriately. But we’ll let you be the judge.

There’s something about the CM, regardless of the rim size, that makes it look like its riding a little high. On the other hand it IS suppose to be an SUV (of sorts) so perhaps there’s no point in trying to make it the same as a hatchback.

I am ready to order my Countryman JCW.

The Clubvan looks like something useful yet classy. The Countryman looks like something overcooked.

+1

The Clubman is possibly the best iteration of the 2nd generation. A surprisingly versatile car. What I think MINI did unfairly to it was not to add a second club door on the driver’s side (For those of us with LHD cars)

Looks like a MINI that had a massive allergic reaction, quick, stick it with an EpiPen.

I keep hoping that the Clubman will grow on me. It still hasn’t. The roofline, the whole rear design (the rear lights, the barn doors, the break in the beltline trim) all drive me nuts. I just can’t get over those design elements that I don’t like. Optimistic for the next generation…but I really just want a simple, extended wheelbase MINI wagon. No funky roofline. No barn doors. Just easy access to a roomier rear seat area (proper doors or club doors) and a bit more boot with a hatch. Slap the All4 system on it as an option. JCW as an option. Perfect car.

Outstanding. If I ever need to replace my Mazda 5 GSD hauler…

About to take delivery of a True Blue CM-S I ordered back in January…hopefully by the end of the week as it’s sitting at the distro center in B’mer at the moment (our dealer is in Annapolis).

Just didn’t seem worth waiting for the JCW…not paying prolly close to an extra $10k for 30hp and the $500 sport suspension. The sham of it all is the “Aero” kit…it has the exact same bumpers as the regular CM-S with different black plastic trim under the front and rear (with the “diffuser”) and the side strakes. MINI literally charges $3499 for that body kit which is really only $500 worth of parts

I agree, it’s way over the top for a bit of trim.

Offer me a JCW Countryman in WRC trim and I’d drown a litter of puppies for it! Not really, but you get the idea!

CM JCW … stoopid car w/o N20 class power. 🙁

Love the Clubvan, think everybody knows my feelings about the other thing lol

To me, that paint job makes the CM look even larger than it usually does. The larger wheels don’t seem too help, they just look larger. Maybe some 22″ rims, chrome, with spinners to draw your attention away from the overall size of the CM.

The Clubvan on the other hand looks quite smart.

The JCW Countryman is going to ride like crap if it’s on 19″ run-flats given what everyone is saying about the 18″ run-flats on the Countryman S…

The new generation of RFs are indiscernible from non RFs so once MINI gets those there will be no complaining. BMW has them on the new 3 and they are money.

Damn, no diesel news from geneva?

What a beautiful shade of blue! This color shouldn’t be exclusive to a limited edition, I’d pick it in a heart beat..

Still a deplorable excuse for a MINI. Regardless of variant the thing handles and drives like a SUV/CUV. Boo.
