After over a year of negative results, MINI USA sales are up for the 2nd month in a row. For September, MINI USA reported 3,505 vehicles sold, an increase of 1.3 percent from the 3,461 in the same month a year ago. Once again the big reason is the Countryman which saw sales up 25% for the month for the second consecutive month.
Interestingly, MINI Certified Pre-Owned, which had done well over the past year, only sold 913 vehicles, a decrease of 23.5 percent for the month. Total MINI Pre-Owned sales were similarly down 22.8 percent.
With the Countryman LCI, electric Cooper SE and volatile gas prices likely on tap for 2020, it’ll be interesting to see how things progress for the brand.

While the Countryman is clearly the story, do not overlook the 4dr hardtop. YTD it has the least degraded sales percentage. Is the third biggest seller, only slightly behind the 2dr hardtop. Very steady sales numbers. I think this bodes well for the 2021 lifted semi-suv version of the 4 dr. Just offer a manual transmission and I’m a buyer
