According to sources MINI is planning to unveil a concept that will preview the forthcoming all electric MINI models. The concept it expected to be closely tied to the production hatch which is currently planned to debut in 2023 before going on sale worldwide in late 2023 and early 2024.

The concept will focus on the digital future of MIN ownership. That means we’ll likely see an emphasis an all new and radical infotainment system which we previewed last month. We’ll also see a full articulation of MINI’s strategy around sustainability including use of new materials that are meant to replace the traditional leather found in MINIs for decades. Finally expect a hint at performance and range.

What To Expect: Massive Leap In Technology & Infotainment

Yes that is a massive circular screen. And yes it’s identical to what we saw a few months ago on the upcoming 2024 MINI electric hatch. We expect MINI to focus on this technology in showing a concept of what’s possible. While we won’t likely see the final experience we’d expect something that shows off the hardware and software and connectivity capabilities.

We also expect a preview of the electric drivetrain with some vague performance metrics mentioned. While things like 0-60 times and range won’t be announced until the production version of the all electric Hatch and Countryman come to market in 18 months, we stand likely to get a hint of what to expect.

Next Generation MINI Launch Details

Given what we know and how far along these test mules are, we believe we’ll see the 2024 MINI hatch make its debut in the second half of 2023 as a 2024 model in the US. The revised F56 petrol powered MINI will debut around the same time as it undergoes final testing this year.

Finally look for the next generation Countryman to debut in both electric and petrol forms late next year with a 2024 launch.
