MINI provided a glimpse of the future MINI family at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023. The brand premiered the all-electric MINI Concept Aceman, the JCW 1to6 that raced at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring and the highly limited-edition MINI Cooper SE Convertible. The festival, held in the picturesque parkland around Goodwood House in West Sussex, celebrated automotive culture with a diverse range of participants. MINI showcased their diverse product portfolio on site, featuring the MINI JCW 1to6 Edition, MINI Concept Aceman, and the strictly limited MINI Cooper SE Convertible.
One of the highlights was the legendary Hillclimb, which provided automotive enthusiasts a rare opportunity to witness the vehicles and drivers up close. The MINI John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition made its British motorsport debut on the hillclimb following its podium finish at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. This special edition, limited to 999 units, features a unique high-performance model with a manual 6-speed transmission. It pays homage to MINI’s motorsport roots, delivering the brand’s typical go-kart feeling and driving fun. Charlie Cooper, the grandson of racing car engineer John Cooper, had the honor of driving the edition car.
Another exciting debut was the MINI Concept Aceman, a concept car that showcased the future design, interior, and electric performance of MINI’s upcoming models. It made its debut in the UK ahead of a production launch late next year.
Visitors to Electric Avenue had the opportunity to experience the first all-electric MINI Cooper SE Convertible. This limited model, restricted to 150 units for the UK market, was showcased in the festival section focused on electrified automobility. Electric Avenue provided information about the advantages of electrically powered vehicles across various brands. The MINI Cooper SE Convertible, with a range of 201 kilometers based on the WLTP test cycle, proudly holds the title of being the world’s first premium convertible in the small car segment that is locally emission-free. It serves as a stepping stone towards the next-generation all-electric MINI model family.
