One more oddly shaped Woofcast for you. Starting off with news with Todd, Nathaniel and Gabe, finishing off with a hugeAsk Chad session. Stay tuned for next week as Chad takes the time to help you get your MINI ready for winter. You know we’ll be talking more about the Countryman too since Gabe was in Austin last week for the big press event.
As mentioned, WRR west coast HQ has successfully transitioned to our new Arizona offices and we expect to reach normal operational capacity next week.

While we finish off a few reviews from the recent MINI USA 2011 press launch, we thought we’d give you a sneak look at video shot around the launch area of the cars we tested. Some thoughts from the video… yes Pure Red is not Chili Red. Yes we also love the Bright White seen on the MCS with ALL4. No we don’t like the way 17″ wheels look on that Cooper Countryman either.
With the recent news that MINI will indeed be offering the bench rear seat in the Countryman, we want to know what you think. If you’re in the market for a Countryman, how would you roll?
Naturally the most gaudy of the numbers belongs to the Cooper hatch at 37 mpg on the highway. But in our minds the MCS hatch is even more impressive at 36 mpg. That’s up 2 mpg while getting a 9 hp boost. Here’s the rundown (full stats after the break): continued →
Worldwide MINI is on a tear. With the a half month’s of Countryman sales, the brand is selling cars at its highest level ever. The brand increased its sales volume in September (+1.9%). With 25,222 (prev. yr. 24,760) deliveries, the brand reported its best September result ever. A major contributor was the new MINI Countryman which launched mid-month. The brand’s first crossover model has already been received by 1,760 customers. In the period up to and including September, 167,751 (prev. yr. 161,638 / +3.8%) MINI cars were delivered to customers all around the world.
We’ve gotten an early look at a few EPA figures for the US spec MINI Countryman. As we expect the new Valvatronic engine in the Cooper S variants has created an impressive power to mpg figure.
The 181 hp Countryman Cooper S (FWD) will get 32 mpg on the highway while the Cooper S with ALL4 gets 31. For the Countryman Cooper the figures is even better at 35 highway. continued →
We’ve got 222 photos of all the festivities over the past 24 hours to give you a taste of what it was like. As you can imagine the event itself was superb and many thanks have to go out to the MINI USA team for pulling off such a well planned trip. Obviously we couldn’t bring along everyone who reads MF so we’re doing the next best thing and hosting over 200 of the best images of the event. It’s a look at all the different 2011 MINIs from every angle.
We’ll have reviews of the Countryman range as well as a first look at MINI Connected in the coming days.
