By popular demand here's the rumored new Orange Metallic MINI. I've heard it's coming out sometime during the '04 model year but haven't seen this confirmed anywhere yet.
I believe this particular car made the rounds at the 2001 autoshows.

BTW this color was found on a post at MINI2 some time ago. I was never able to track down the original poster unfortunately.

Nice color, but I taught it was a Chili Red finish under very bright sunlight.

It is indeed very different from the orange found in the current VW new Beetle.

I frankly find hard to part with $400 for metallic finishes. I think MINI needs to update its solid color palette but they don't wanna lose the revenue generated by the metallic color choices.

I saw this color at the Paris Auto Show back in 2000 and was so impressed with it this was my first color choice before the MINI colors were officially introduced. It looks really good in person and if it does become available and I order another MINI, I'll order it in this color………

One thing is for sure the fans of Volunteers of Tennessee and the Orangemen in New York will certainly have to have one.

It would be quite interesting if MINI would open up the production system to “Custom” palette colors for special, pre-paid orders. Certainly there are potential headaches, however, the boon would be the promotion of a have it your way option that currently only exists for certain ultra-high dollar brands.

Feh, MINI is copying VW New Beetle colors, which are superior in hues – Snap Orange or Sundown Orange anyone?

I would suggest the old Mini color of Vermillion used in the 70's. A good choice. More of a tangerine color than orange. A stand out color without metallic finish.
