[UPDATE] Here's another JCW review by Norm after his first five days with the car
Some initial impressions by someone who has owned an MCS for almost a year and is a staple on other boards:
“Quoted price with labor and tax was just over $6100. Since labor time went way over what it's supposed to take, due to their taking their time to make sure the first was done correctly and to learn how to do it, they lowered the price for me when I came in to pay. It was a lot closer in line with the $4500 + 10 hours labor quote that people have been going by.
In the boot of the car were several boxes and a piece of paper:
#1 contained the badges, and a custom cut adhesive thingy for the rear badge. The front badge get's installed via two bolts and a backing plate, so drilling is required there. #2 had what I can only guess is the original supercharger pully belt. #3 had the original supercharger cover.
The paper is a certificate of ownership, with serial number, date installed, and miles on the car when installed. It is signed, in blue ink, by Mike Cooper!
THE SOUND – joyfull! The exhaust note is louder, but not loud. And when the supercharger kicks in everyone around you will know it.
THE POWER off the line is much improved, and so smooth as to almost be unnoticable. No problem with the car wanting to bog down, it just goes like you'd want it to. Power kicks in at around 2500rpm very noticably, but smoothly, and just keeps going and going and going….. Get the engine up to around 4500-5000rpm and floor it and you will get a sense of what your lumbar support is doing very quickly. This car will flat out move….
I've only done about 25-30 miles in it since picking it up, but on a spot going home where I'd normally top out at around 70mph under hard acceleration I hit 90mph and decided I'd better just back off in case police were around the next bend, and it was still accellerating hard with probably a gear and a half to go.”
I should be posting my own review in the next couple of weeks 😉
