It looks like miniusa.com has now been updated to show the new optional 3-Spoke Steering Wheel that will be available on week 49 builds and on. The good news is to those who aren't fond of the new design it appears to be completely optional and the 2-spoke design remains as the default. However looking at the pricing I can't help but wonder why one would pay for the premium package (which comes with the standard 2-spoke MFSW) and then have to pay another $350 to get the 3-spoke multi-function wheel.
Even more interestingly it looks like MINIUSA is offering the 3-spoke wheel as a standalone option on both the Cooper and the Cooper S in standard form ($250) or in multi-function form ($350). Those are the same prices that the standard 2-spoke wheels are offered at. Based on this I would only have to assume that the premium package pricing is incorrect on miniusa.com and the 3-spoke wheel should be a no cost option when ordering the package. Here's a view of both new wheels and individual pricing as shown on miniusa.com.
Update:
This appears to have been fixed and the 3-spoke steering wheel is now standard in the luxury or a no cost option.
