For those that don't know the ICE-Link is a system that allows you to connect your iPod and your MINI for full control of your iPod through both the MFSW and your head unit. Here's all the info from the iPod lounge:
“Dension USA today announced the release of their new ICE-Link v1.1 auto interconnect kit for iPods. The new version features the 3G cradle, a docking station which supports the 30/40GB iPod and the 10/15/20GB models with the help of a user installable spacer. Charging the iPod while in the car is effortless – just place the iPod into the cradle. For classic iPods the connection option includes a FireWire plug that connects directly into the iPod and supplies 12V DC at all times. The dock connector models now feature a variable output line voltage to match the specifications of the OEM or aftermarket amplifier system – 0.8V-1V-2V-4V. For classic iPods, output is derived from the top connector and power-on volume level may be pre-set by the end user. Mini dock cradle, dock cable, and classic iPod connection options are scheduled to be available in May, 2004, and will connect to the existing ICE-Link v1.1 module. The ICE-Link v1.1 module should be available this week.
Dension's has some further details on it's site here and you can check out our review of the first version here.

Sounds good Gabe. Looks like the updated version for classic iPods will solve the problem that I had with mine regarding output volume.

I'll have to contact them and see if I can trade in my v1.0 for a v1.1 when the classic version becomes available in May.

I originally ordered my ICElink on February 10th. I have yet to get a working version from them. Just last week I rec'd this v1.1 cradle, but w/o the car adaptor. The rest of the parts were supposto be FEDEX'ed last Friday, but didn't arrive. We'll see how it goes. So far, I have a very poor opinion of their customer service. -Mark

Will the new ICE-Link v.1. still have the problem of charging the iPod's battery even if it doesn't need it…thereby adding to the charging cycles?

I am not sold into the Dension Ice Link product. I think Alpine (Manufacturer of the MINI factory stereo) will come up with a much cleaner and seamless solution this summer to better integrate MFSW, Stereo and ipod components.

Hello,
I´ve mounted an icelink for an ipod 15Gb 3.Gen. , with an becker headunit.
It works fine, the only problem is the output level, it´s to low. Icelink recommends 2 V. Can anyone explain how can i increase that? May i set this on the ipod (i´ll never found that optiion) or on the icelink-adaptor?

Many thanks for your help!!
