I'll second that! I've had mine for about 3 weeks now and it's an attention grabber, for sure.
ReplyThe MINI Convertible has been named one of the top ten hippest vehicles for 2005 by the New York Times. Here's an excerpt of the article:
What's cuter than a Mini? A Mini with the top down. When it was reborn a couple of years ago, response to the Mini Cooper hatchback was, well, thunderous. Expect more of the same when this new drop-top version hits showroom floors later this year.

ReplyI still can't take having my car called “cute.” One of the reasons I didn't order a convertible in the first place. Too “cute” for me.
ReplyI just picked up the official MotoringFile test MCSc and after a 20 minute drive through the streets of downtown Chicago I have to agree with NY Times. I had TONS of stares from all the right people. And the funny thing… when I parked the car and took a few shots – it was guys who started gathering around asking questions.
I even got a compliment from some cops who called a “chick magnet”. And these are Chicago cops… if there was an opportunity to call something a chick car they wouldn't hesitate.
I'll have more later today…
ReplyBut was it “TORPID” in traffic?
Gabe, don't freeze your tuercas off back there.

ReplyActually, it is gorgeous here in Chicago today. Up near 70 degrees, which for this time of year in Chicago is not the norm. If I had a drop top, I would definitely be taking advantage.
I drove the convertible for about 5 minutes a few weeks ago. It was great. Looking forward to hearing a review from a more extended drive.
ReplyHey, that's cool – you're a real live Carmag now! I'd gladly do your hot-weather testing for ya! You get the fishbowl effect all over again, too. Did you sign the 90% contract, as well? ;-) Happy Motoring!

ReplyYeah, I've had my hot orange MCSC for about a month now, and it is CRAZY the amount of attention this car gets, from men and women.
People actually get excited when they see this car, and that is no exageration. What's even better is it's MY car and more fun than the attention is the driving experience.
ReplyGW: The article begins, “What's cuter than a MINI?…”, which is implying that it's already cute to begin with. It's just a word that this particular writer decided to use. I certainly wouldn't let something like that influence my decisions. Gheez… Who are you voting for this election?! LOL!
