[update 7/28] I just heard from John Cooper Works directly that this car will not be offered for sale to the public and will only be available for motorsports.

From the Detroit News Auto Insider:

“The fastest BMW Mini Cooper ever was photographed recently at Germany's Nurburgring race track. It is a lowered, lightened version of the 200-hp Cooper S Works with upgraded suspension and was built to compete in the Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race.

The Super S is also a test car for next year's Cooper Challenge race series.”

Okay the obvious questions would be is this car or are these suspension mods going to be available to the general public? Perhaps we'll see a JCW “Lightweight” similar to the E36 M3 Lightweight from the mid-late 90's. One can only hope.
