Frequent MotoringFile contributor David Olenick (who recently gave us his initial impressions on the new JCW suspension kit) has also sent in a quick review of the 2005 JCW MCS engine kit. David was able to drive the cars at the MINI Motoring Advisor training last week in Minneapolis.

As mentioned on MotoringFile the '05 JCW engine kit adds new fuel injectors and new software. These pieces are also retrofitable to MCS with the previous JCW kit. I have a lot of 2004 JCW MCS seat time and the biggest difference between the two is how and when the supercharger kit spools up. It friggin kicks, almost like a turbo. It's a change that's very noticeable! Anyone on the fence about the 2004 JCW MCW kit won't have a problem deciding now. I will say however, my driving was much smoother in the standard MCS. I guess they should add a talent package for wanna be speed racers too!

Thanks David. It's great to hear about the 2005 JCW MCS kit first hand from someone who's driven it. For any other MA's that also went to the training and who are interested in give us their feedback on the new engine kit, feel free to add your comments.
