see this is why i love these guys…. what other car company would think of something like this… ok not everyone goes on picnics but its the thought that counts

jump the shark: include an excessive scene or a variation of the plot pointing out that the long-running television show has been determined as declining.

RB–OH YES THERE ARE MANY SMALL WINERIES IN MISSOURI THEY ARE NOT AS BIG AS A WINERY THAT WOULD BE IN ENGLAND OR CALIFORNIA BUT I DO LIKE THE PICNIC SET

Aww cmon you think mini was the first people to think of the picnic? everyone knows the P(icnic) T(able) Cruiser has picnics all catered for, and was even named accordingly!

Offering us a lame MINI picnic set does not make me think the MINI itself has begun a downhill slide, it make me think that the marketing department views us as a being as stupid as the pre-teen girls who are thrilled at each now Barbie and Ken “ensemble” of clothing and accessories. Who could take anyone with a MINI picnic set seriously?

Don't laugh. I own a classic VW…. you wouldn't believe how much accessories just like this from that line (usually for the VW Bus of course) go for nowdays.

Buy one now… put it in a box and viola.. instant inheritance for the grandkids.

I think it's pretty dang sweet, although I don't really see how it's MINI. They need to take it back to the design the department and make it resemble parts of the MINI or something. I would definitely get it if it screams MINI.

modern design, but I'll stick with my $20 set from Target… Tho I love nice picnics at park. Nothing like a bottle of wine (concealed because the USSA is ultra conservative), cheese and the company of a nice lady :-)

They better not let prospective US buyers see this kit… they're supposed to be marketing with testosterone in an attempt to reduce the “chick car” factor on the convertible!

The set is listed on the german MINI site. It comes with a (coffee colored) storage bag (which can be used as cushions), includes 2 trays (not shown in piccie above) and retails for 199 Euro ~ 240 $.

I've found that Coleman makes a 'mini' picnic set. It includes: cutlery, cutting board, placemats and more are all held in a sturdy polyester canvas tote. Tote measures: 9 1/4″x 2″ high.
(no plates or cups from what I saw). Sells for around $15.

“Jumping the shark” here??

see this is why i love these guys…. what other car company would think of something like this… ok not everyone goes on picnics but its the thought that counts

Ian…

WTFDTM? Huh?

…RB

nice reference Ian….LOL

I think MINI knee-high socks would be more of a “jumping the shark” type of moment :)

BTW – here's more on “jumping the shark“.

OK, PICTURE THIS-YOU'RE ON A ROAD RALLY TO SOMEWHERE SAY A WINERY IN MISSOURI YOU PULL OUT THIS MINI PICNIC SET VERY COOL AND HANDY??

RB, this is just one interpretation :)

jump the shark: include an excessive scene or a variation of the plot pointing out that the long-running television show has been determined as declining.

Hope this helps :)

Nice picnic set by the way.

Is there also a handy dandy carrying case to store neatly within the Boot, let alone carry to your final resting destination? :o)

Now this is getting out of control!
Just kidding, I think this goes more with the release of the Open.
It's obviously out of season.

Anyhow, trying to squeeze every penny out of us they can eh? hahahah

Looks nice to me!

wonder if it comes with ant repellant

Thanx Volcan…say Hi to your pointy eared brother.

I thought I had watched all the Happy Days when my kids were growing up but I guess I missed that one.

Still not sure what Ian's reference meant…is it the meant too say it's the startt of the end?

Also, having worked in the industry I guess I missed that bit of slang.

Would that be vin de la maison de la misère? I didn't know there were wineries in Missouri.

…RB

I think I will buy a set for my girl when she picks up her new Pink Cabrio.

Um… I think I had this exact same plate, cup and silverware the last time I took an over-sea flight.

Design by Sky-Chefs. Marketing by MINI.

Cheers

The U.S. version will naturally consist of styrofoam plates and plastic cups and forks. Don't forget the paper napkins!

$240 dollars, eh? Think I'll just nick a set on my next United Airlines flight – that way the flight is free!
