I’ve recently heard that Knauz MINI (of Lake Bluff, IL) will start offering actual MINI loaners in the coming months to owners with cars in the shop. Has anyone else heard of similiar programs starting elsewhere?
This would be a fantastic upgrade in service and would eliminate my only complaint in regards to MINI ownership.

I haven't heard anything about this, but it would be a great change… I had my Mini in to Bill Jacobs last week for a replacement door seal on the passenger side (small leak/whistling) and was given an Enterprise Rental Cavalier..

Worst/most dangerous car I ever drove in my life and it only had 17,000 "rental" miles on it… I was very happy to pick my MC up with a full tank of gas and car wash along with a properly fixed seal… Being able to get another Mini or even another car (Bill Jacobs owns how many dealers? BMW/VW/Mazda/You Name It) would have been nice…

My experience at Knauz was similiar. I was given a Ford Tarus and then a Dodge Stratus. Both were run into the ground and smelling of old McDonalds. Not too pleasant. I did manage to aquire a 330i (stick) loaner once though. Still not sure how that happend. I think they forgot to order a part and had to have me come back. Someone must have felt sorry for me.

I hope Knauz does offer loaner cars. Anything that drives is better than nothing.. Makes you appreciate how nice the Cooper is when it comes back.

Knauz has given me two rental loaners, a Mitsu Lancer (icky) and a Toyota Camry (worse!). I appreciate getting something else to drive, and I appreciate not having to pay for overnight stays, but I'd rather drive a rental Geo Metro than deal with those sluggish behemoths again. The local Enterprise has given me Metros in the past, and they were surprisingly decent.

What I hope for is that all dealerships in the area offer either a loaner or a ride for any service that can't be done while you wait. It would vastly improve my ratings to MINIUSA of my dealership experiences, and would go a long way to keeping my business at the dealerships post-warranty.

They told me at Knauz last week that MINI loaners were coming soon. Not sure why they told me as I was just picking up the mudflaps…

Mini Mont Royal in Montreal canada has a CVT and a Mini Cooper loaners.

I received a Bimmer 330 from Mini of Scottsdale, AZ…I hated to give it back, what a car!

Yeah when I got a 330i it was quite a day. It wasn't near as nimble and tossable as the MINI but it was super smooth.

I understand MiniUSA will reimburse up to $15.00/day for a rental when your mini is for service
