I’ve heard this is going to be an option on the EU MINI soon and possibly the US. In my mind it seems that the curve of the dash makes the wood look overly fake. Thoughts?

I totally disagree, Gabe! Fake — never! Burl and bird's eyes are usually done with a veneer since they are so expensive to work with. Veneers are very easy to curve. Looks beautiful, I think!

Wood trim – especially when used this extensively – are usually relegated to larger luxury cars. Because of this trend, the wood dash in the MINI makes it appear as though the company is trying to present a luxurious image in a car that isn't. And in my mind, shouldn't be.

Although I like a nice wood finish in a lot of cars, it just doesn't fit with the rest of the MINI's styling. Maybe if they did it in Ebony or other black/greyish wood instead of a brown birdseye it would go better. I think the color just throws the whole thing off.

I love the wood dash and I really really want it! Too bad I don't think it'll be available by the time my car gets built. The reason I love it though, is that it hides all that ugly plastic. Even if you think the wood dose look fake the plastic will always look the cheapest! That is the one and only thing I rally don't like about the mini's styling.

Don't like the look of the dash, but the shift knob looks pretty sharp.

I don't care much for it either, though I am sure that there is a market for it.
