I suppose it's more like save the weekend. The Chicago MINI Motoring Club is planning on having a drive on either the 12th or 13th of July. The idea is to start somewhere in the city and drive up Lake Shore Drive to destinations as yet to be determined. We're working with several places about an initial meeting point and hopefully will have all the details ironed out in the next week or two.
If you have an questions or suggestions feel free to comment away!

Sounds like fun.. I am in!

I'm not sure, but my 2003 chili red MCS could be in just in time for this drive. If I have the keys I'd be interested otherwise I'll still be looking forward to my first drive. Let me know the details

If you want to do a drive through the Barrington area, I would be happy to provide you with some very nice roads.

Sweet! I'll put it on my calendar :)

I work on that Sunday! If it's on Saturday I'll definitly be there!

Saturday is preferred but we're trying to cover all our bases at this point so I listed both days.

Just making it known that Sunday is preferable for me!

Have we been to the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe yet? Costs $8.75 per car for parking. July 12th and 13th they have “Great Chefs” demonstrating their techniques at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. There are a couple restaurants on premises, too. Or there's Six Flags in Gurnee. About $29/person in a group of 20 or more. Or there's Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha, with live racing (and bets if you wish) at 1:00 p.m. Would be cool if they'd let us parade around the outside edge of the track for all the race fans. 🙂 Another alternative: Arlington Park's first horse race on the 12th and 13th is 1:00 p.m.

Botanic Garden sounds like a great idea–affordable and interesting!

Arlington Park or Dairyland Greyhound Park sounds FUN!
