As reported on MotoringFile a few weeks ago MINI is currently running a rather sweet advertising campaign these days with Krispy Kreme. Now Autoweek/Automotive News gives it's take on the recent ads. Here's an excerpt:
Mini, a division of BMW of North America LLC, is including coupons for free Krispy Kreme doughnuts in its full-page print advertisements. The ads will appear in August issues of six consumer magazines, including Car and Driver, Maxim and Sports Illustrated.
…The ads represent Mini's latest attempt to “take a left when everyone else is turning right,” says Kerri Martin, Mini's manager of marketing communications. “We share brand values of irreverence,” Martin says. “And it's OK if people think it's strange.”
Come September, Martin says, the Krispy Kreme deal is done. “We move on to the convertible.”
